These are our unexpected and uninvited visitors that drop by mostly during the early hours of the afternoon these days. We really didn't notice them before until when I was under the palm tree one afternoon that I felt something like big drops of rain that kept on falling on my head, when I impulsively looked up, I saw Rainbow Lorikeets enjoying their feed of the palm flowers. They seemed not to be worried by my presence when they noticed me but just continued what they were busy doing. The palm tree isn't that high and close to our front porch. Never thought before that the palm flowers would attract birds. Really never thought to check out too every time we heard parrot noises. It's been flowering few times and I think parrots have been enjoying the blooms for quite a while now. We planted a few native plants both in our backyard and front yard to attract natives birds and butterflies. We love to see them in our yards. However, this palm tree was planted just to give more shade in the front yard. And now, every time we notice their presence , we go straight to our front porch and watch them. Hence, I took these pictures from our front porch.

What a very beautiful sight to have right off your front porch!
Your visitors are beautiful. You are very fortunate.
These are really lovely pictures. The birds are beautiful. You are so lucky to have such colourful birds in your garden.
These are incredibly gorgeous.
Gorgeous birds... I'd love a few of them. I'm going to try to attract hummingbirds this Spring.
